What you will do

You will learn how to make your own blend aromatherapy grade candle using Soy wax and essential oils hosted by Wight Apothecary. This hands on workshop will take you step by step through the candle making process.

During the class your teacher Tracey Simmonds-Bland will teach you about essential oils and how to blend them creating your own signature fragrance.

You will then melt, blend and pour your own scented candle. Once completed your candle will need to set and will be ready for collection 48 hours later.

All our candles are made using Soy wax, a relatively new and innovative candle wax made from 100% soy beans. This is a renewable and sustainable resource and completely natural and biodegradable as well as being non toxic and non carcinogenic with no pesticides, herbicides or genetically modified material.

You will also be using 8% high grade essential oils which do not release the toxins commonly found in synthetic scented fragrance based candles. Our preferred choice for those wishing to burn environmentally friendly candles.

Your Teacher

Mrs B (aka Tracey Simmonds Bland) is a born and bred Island girl who has happily followed the ‘bungee’ tradition of Island natives, the one where you always keep bouncing back.

After a fulfilling creative career around the UK including photography, styling, festival and event organisation, she soon settled back into the ways of Island life.

Sometime back Mrs B found herself with an extraordinarily expensive secret addiction of extremely costly organic candles. The ones that set you back a small fortune because of their sustainable and natural ingredients, but are completely divine.

So she set about making her own and teaching her craft at a fraction of the cost in-keeping with her mission to be a conscious consumer.
